Finding support for your EE program can be a difficult task. Below are some suggestions on getting started.

Building an Environmental Education Program at your School:
- Get administration input.
- Ask teachers that are interested in environmental issues to get involved.
Get Parents Involved:
- Present your ideas at PTA meetings.
- Research. Some schools already have materials. There are also ready programs for you free of charge. See the Free Resources page.
- There are other programs provided by organizations and centers in this area. See Outside Resources. There may be a small charge for some but will provide a very valuable lesson for your students.
- Work together with your parents to put together materials that you can share. Take a look at our Existing Programs page to see examples of other schools in your area.
- Don't over commit and burn yourself out.
Creating an Environmental Club:
- Find out your school needs.
- Begin activities at the beginning of the year .
- Get students involved. - find a balance between service projects and social get-togethers.
- Be enthusiastic!
- Advertise the project in the school newspaper, website, facebook, and twitter.
- Combine activities with Community Service, Education, and Advocacy but have FUN!
- Offer free food at meetings.
- Promote the community service benefits.
